A ranked assessment on a scale of 1 to 3 of the mitotic activity in the region of malignant breast tissue. Three represents the highest level of mitotic rate. Used in conjunction with similar scoring of nuclear pleomorphism and glandular differentiation as the basis of rendering a histologic grade of the ductal carcinoma.
