| Level VIa is contained between the anterior edges of the sternocleidomastoid muscles. It is limited cranially by the caudal limit of level Ib (i.e. the caudal edge of the hyoid bone or the caudal edge of the sub-mandibular gland, whichever is more caudal), caudally by the cranial edge of the sternal manubrium, anteriorly by the platysma, and posteriorly by the anterior surface of the infrahyoid muscles. |
